Job Description:

Overview

The Supply Chain Intern will be responsible for purchasing transactions and maintaining inventories of materials and equipment.

Internship Start Date: May 13, 2024

You will be trained on the Operations floor, working alongside team members in our manufacturing, distribution and customer service teams in order to see first-hand the scope of our organization. 

After your training, you will be moved into your department and be assigned a Supervisor. Supervisors will direct your day to day activities and be your key contact for non-daily activities and overall guidance. You will be exposed to multiple projects and be issued daily tasks to complete towards those projects. 

Internship End Date: August 2, 2024

We will conduct an Exit Interview and get final feedback from Interns on the program.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team and vendors to improve the supply chain
  • Manage projects related to supply chain and cost reduction
  • Review orders for accuracy and verify that materials, equipment and stock are not available from current inventories
  • Enter data for production scheduling, stock replenishment/relocation and inventory adjustments
  • Use analytical skills and experience to leverage spreadsheets to optimize inventory and supply chain performance
  • Organize, problem solve, and multi-task to manage competing priorities and related details in a time sensitive manufacturing business environment

Qualifications

  • Students enrolled in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics or related field
  • Previous supply chain work-related skill, knowledge, or experience specifically in purchasing and/or inventory systems preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects and other daily assigned tasks in a timely manner

Goals of Internship

  • Know what skills you will need post-graduation (software programs/communication methods)
  • Develop the skills needed for the internship and post-graduation 
  • Hone the skills you already have to succeed
  • Be a part of Department meetings
  • Learn about other business functions and how departments collaborate
  • Complete a 10-week project and present to the Leadership team and other interns

  • Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly on 15th and last day of the month
