You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth.

Our Systems Analysis team assists PwC with system updates and change management based on its technological needs. You’ll help the team with system configurations, implementations and other related process improvements.

JOB PURPOSE

The Solution Architect is responsible for bridging the gap between enterprise-level architecture and practical technology implementation. This role involves collaborating with project teams to design and deliver effective technology solutions that adhere to architectural standards and align with business requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • The Solution Architect focuses on translating business and technical requirements into architectural designs for technology solutions. This role ensures that solutions align with EA principles and architectural standards.
  • The Solution Architect will focus on utilising LeanIX and by delivering on these key outcomes, ensure that LeanIX is effectively used as a tool to support architectural decisions, compliance, and governance within the organization
  • Solution Design: Work closely with project teams to understand specific solution requirements and translate them into detailed architectural designs and ensure these fit within the EA frameworks.
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools and platforms to support the solution's architecture, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security and compliance. This may also include vendor solutions and providing relevant recommendations.
  • Integration: Design integration approaches to ensure seamless interoperability between different technology components and systems.This should be applied to both new solutions and existing systems/applications, ensuring data flow, interoperability, and minimal disruption.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive solution architectures and technical documentation. This includes creating architectural artifacts, diagrams, and documentation that support EA objectives.
  • Adherence to Standards: Ensure that technology solutions align with organization's architectural standards, industry regulations, security protocols, data privacy requirements, and other relevant compliance considerations within the EA context.
  • Change Management: Collaborate with change management teams to facilitate the adoption of architectural changes within the Tech landscape. Ensure that stakeholders understand the rationale and benefits of architectural/solution decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Remain updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and EA best practices and apply this knowledge to enhance solution designs and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's EA capabilities.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Domain Architects and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication of technical concepts, architectural decisions, and the value of solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities of improvement and work collaboratively with other Africa Tech teams on service improvement initiatives.
  • Document / Record administration in systems such as Oracle, ServiceNow and Azure DevOps.
  • General administration and use of digital assets (Documentation, Reports, Statistics, Collaboration Services)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Business Administration / Information Systems or similar.
  • Solution Architecture Certification preferred (e.g. Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Completion of leadership or management training programs is a plus.
  • 5 – 8 years’ experience designing and implementing systems and solutions from the ground up

EXPERIENCE

3 – 4 years proven experience in a specialised technology or architecture role, with a track record of successful solution delivery. (Beneficial)
