Role Profile:

This is a business-critical role that has direct responsibility in the Amers/EMEA region for the quality and accuracy of the FTSE Russell index products. The role will report into to the Head of Index Data Production and Transformation has direct people management responsibilities.

As a Senior Manager for Equity Data Management - Amers/EMEA you will be managing teams within Amers/EMEA, that develop and maintain data quality controls and are responsible for day-to-day data analysis and data management activities, ensuring high quality accurate products are provided. You will be managing a team of data standardizations analysts who are responsible for creating and maintaining a suite of financial datasets including reference, pricing, fundamentals, classifications which powers Indices and data products.

This role will report into to the Head of Index Data Production and Transformation.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Sets goals and targets for the teams in Amers/EMEA to drive performance and deliver high quality data.
  • Ensures resources in Amers/EMEA are aligned to strategic and tactical projects and responding to customer challenges and questions to deliver superior customer service.
  • Reports on status, risks, and issues across BAU and project deliverables to ensure stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Works collaboratively across the function to ensure data stores and applications adhere to defined data management, data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Manage multiple sub teams across Amers/EMEA ensuring the team meets deliverables to produce high quality analytics & derived data content for use in index builds and other products.
  • Coordinate Regulatory and Business Controls across Reference Data & Analytics, and work closely with Colleagues in Risk and Compliance.
  • Create and manage a suite of KPIs & metrics to describe and manage team performance in a data driven manner, focusing on minimizing operational risk and a strong control framework.
  • High people focus to maintain high morale & motivation within the team and ensuring that the individual team members deliver all objectives within the agreed deadlines to the required standard.
  • Drive the training and development of the team in Amers/EMEA and deliver regular and timely coaching and feedback to always achieve the best of the people using company tools around performance management and development. Interview and hire talent as required.
  • Ensure the team has access to the relevant tools and platforms, documenting gaps, and requirements where appropriate to deliver on data management technical requirements. Use new technology to drive significant business value by increasing efficiency and coverage.
  • Develop and own the roadmap for implementation of change into the teams and datasets.
  • Oversee all project execution within the team, raising risks and obstacles where appropriate to ensure smooth execution.
  • Set the right conditions for teams to continually improve processes, capturing opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Ensure that all documentation, procedures, and processes are in place, and are reviewed and updated regularly. Key member of the governance processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to client inquiries, working with Client Service teams.
  • Places an emphasis on employee engagement, talent development and succession planning to build long term successful teams.

Key Skills & Behaviours

  • Direct team management experience of leading multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of key financial datasets, specifically Security Masters, pricing, classifications
  • Demonstrated experience with market data, including procedures of corporate action treatments, currency changes & common market identifiers.
  • Solid understanding of data management theories with 10+ years practical experience, including managing and monitoring data from common third-party vendors (e.g., Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg or FactSet)
  • Strong computer literacy, including advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite of products, knowledge of programming languages (e.g., R, Python) or Database querying language (e.g., SQL) and a willingness and skill to learn new tools quickly.
  • Modernize the skillset of teams to prepare for the technical and system transformations underway to deliver high value.
  • Client focused with a good understanding of typical workflows within Investment Managers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in people management role.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Development and Articulation of a future vision of the team, and the roadmap to achieve it.
  • Produce data visualizations and transparent data quality reports to management and stakeholders, and robust action plans around improvement areas.
  • Transparent reports around capacity and human capital health
  • Set goals and objectives for team members, including front line managers, provide regular and timely feedback and coaching as required.
  • Oversee clear documentation of technical requirements around data ingestion, management, analytics, and data derivations to ensure smooth implementation in partnership with technology.
  • Deliver clear and accurate analysis to facilitate stakeholder discussions.
  • Build trust with stakeholders by consistently understanding and fulfilling stakeholder requests in an accurate, timely and professional manner.
  • Create robust and repeatable processes to continuously deliver high quality output whilst controlling cost.
  • Drive change and innovation to redesign current methods of working.
  • Engage multiple stakeholders and partners across in Amers/EMEA to ensure execution success.
  • Demonstrate and practice adherence to LSEG internal controls and standards in data management, and document management and production (e.g., keeping appropriate records, following LSEG processes and using mandated tools, etc.).

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $95,100.00 - $176,700.00.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
