Job Description & Summary

A career in Information Technology, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable our people to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to our clients. You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth.

Our Data Intelligence and Analysis - Practice Support team provides PwC a series of organisational technology capabilities that include business intelligence, data management, data warehouse, and data assurance. You’ll help with projects that involve information technology strategy and infrastructure, enterprise architecture, enterprise applications, large scale programme and portfolio management, information technology security, data analytics, computer forensics, and emerging technologies like cloud, mobility and social networking.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of  

As a Technical PowerBI Lead, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Lead the technical development of dashboards, reports, and other visualizations 
  • Ownership of the PowerBI infrastructure and coordination with technical stakeholders 
  • Provide technical guidance for the development and deployment of complex reporting solutions 
  • Work collaboratively with the data visualization and data engineering teams to effectively manage and assess feasibility based on forecasted internal project team’s time and resource availability 
  • Develop data model requirements based on reporting requirements and data available 
  • Coach and develop reporting team members through formal and informal upskilling, and empower them to contribute to increasingly complex projects 
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in design reviews to ensure feasibility of requirements, quality and performance of products and solutions 
  • Ownership and creation of technical best practices to be deployed across the team 

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve  

  • Experience in PowerBI Development role and as a primary development lead 
  • Certification in Reporting, BI or related field is an asset 
  • Significant experience in reporting solutions design and deployment 
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerBI (DAX, Access Controls and Data Ingestion, Complex Reporting) 
  • Considerable knowledge of Azure Synapse in relation to PowerBI 
  • Advanced proficiency in developing dashboards and visualization models 
  • Data transformation and cleansing through data profiling and root cause analysis 
  • Proficiency in software development, testing and QA best practices 
  • Experience upskilling technical skills in junior staff members 
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and/or coaching diverse people and perspectives
