About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join our Data Engineering team as a part of our growing Data & Advanced Analytics department.

As a Python Developer you will build scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform raw data from many different sources. You will support our data scientists and data analysts on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Build scalable data systems, pipelines and API integrations and exposing the data through Dremio;
  • Collaborate with the data scientists, analysts and the business teams to improve data models and increase the data accessibility and reliability;
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality;
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual; processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.;
  • Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues;
  • Evaluate open source and vendor tools for data lineage;
  • Analyze and organize raw data.

What you'll need:

  • 2-5 years of experience using Python (OOP, decorators, multithreading/multiprocessing);
  • Good knowledge of generic SQL (No-SQL is a plus);
  • Experience with big data tools;
  • Minimum Git knowledge and workflow;
  • Minimum Linux experience;
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service;
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Process oriented with great documentation skills;
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.

It would be a plus: 

  • Docker / Kubernetes knowledge;
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems (tools like Airbyte, Airflow);
  • Experience with tools like Dremio, Spark, BigQuery etc.
