Job Title: Electrical Technician

Department: Facilities

FLSA Status: Regular- Non-Exempt

Location: Quincy, FL

ROLE SUMMARY

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for overseeing and evaluating the electronic components related to the production process, making repairs and upgrades as needed.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and ability to troubleshoot
  • Maintain and troubleshoot with 480, 277, and 120-volt systems as well as low voltage systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC’s and Building Management Systems, programming experience is highly preferred
  • Decipher complex plans, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and instructions to complete installation or practice troubleshooting of electronic systems, parts, or wiring networks
  • Record information and results about product or electronic performance by detailing testing methods, documenting possible issues and listing part specifications
  • Partner with mechanical and electrical engineers as well OEM’s to fine tune the repair and diagnostic process in the work environment
  • Diagnose and repair problems with malfunctioning circuitry networks, defective electronic pieces, and missing/inoperative parts
  • Maintain all equipment and components by performing scheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring the calibration of equipment and scheduling replacement when needed
  • Communicate with the operation team members; engineers or management to determine possible problems or update individuals with work progress reports
  • Improve understanding and expertise in the field by regularly attending workshops, classes, conferences, and training sessions in electronics and engineering
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in Electrical Maintenance or related field required
  • Experience with PLC’s and Building Management Systems
  • Mechanical and HVAC experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft office, outlook, etc.
  • Strong manual dexterity

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, AA or Trade School certification in electronics or industrial electrical
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must have valid Florida Driver’s Licenser or ability to obtain one
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
