University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center invites applications for a one-year residency position in Nuclear Medicine Physics for candidates who have completed a CAMPEP-accredited residency in Diagnostic Medical Physics.

The program is CAMPEP-accredited for both Diagnostic Medical Physics and Nuclear Medicine Physics. This program was established through competitive grant from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

Residents will join a busy clinical medical physics team supporting state-of-the-art nuclear medicine and diagnostic and interventional radiology clinical services. Medical physics enjoys a close working relationship with physicians and collaborations with multiple industry partners. Clinical training opportunities include SPECT and SPECT/CT, PET/CT, PET/MR, and radionuclide therapy procedures. University Hospitals is upgrading its fleet of gamma cameras and hybrid imagers, and residents will be closely involved in acceptance and commissioning of new systems and related radiation shielding. There are ample opportunities for teaching and research for residents who wish to explore professional interests in these areas. The program emphasizes clinical competency, and graduates of the program will be well prepared to undertake academic, clinical (hospital-based or consulting), or other chosen career paths.

Candidates must complete a CAMPEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Physics residency program prior to commencement of this one-year program.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) is a tertiary care center affiliated with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). The Division of Nuclear Medicine operates a PET cyclotron and onsite radiopharmacy for trials of novel radiotracers.

UHCMC provides radiology and nuclear medicine services throughout the University Hospitals Health System. The medical physics team supports diagnostic and nuclear medicine physics and the enterprise radiation safety program. Our broad-scope radioactive materials license covers 13 nuclear medicine facilities. Medical physics residents train alongside Diagnostic Radiology residents, Nuclear Medicine fellows, and Radiation Therapy Physics residents.
