The Role

As a Product Strategy Manager for our Developer Platform you will report to the Director of Product Strategy at Vim. You will help to design the direction of our product portfolio in order to drive growth, profitability and market competitiveness, starting with our latest new offering: Vim Canvas Developers Platform. We are looking for someone with a balance of technology and product capabilities alongside strategic skillsets. This person will need to be eager to roll up their sleeves, collaborate with developers, and build on an exciting new product. 

Leveraging your expertise in technical development and engineering, product management, and strategic planning, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and test comprehensive portfolio / new product concept strategies. You will partner closely with Marketing, Commercial, Product Management (your team), R&D, Legal, Finance, and Network functions at Vim. You will be our point person for developers who want to build on top of Vim’s infrastructure, and will be an active leader and participant in developer communities, forums, and within additional communities you will help us source through ongoing community building. 

What you will do 

Your role will involve analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for portfolio expansion, optimizing product mix, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Comfort with ambiguity is key, and we expect you to thrive in the flexibility and change with us (with the appropriate guidance from your manager, of course)!

  • Developer Platform Technical GTM 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all development platform developers, customers, early design partners; ideally in person when necessary
  • Engage in and be hands-on with the developer community and act the gatekeeper for all developer feedback 
  • You will act as a customer-facing generalist who will evangelize Vim's developer platform, and bring in the right cross-functional leaders from across Vim orgs as needed (e.g. marketing, product, commercial etc.)
  • Use your strong technical foundation as an engineer as well as your experience working in Go to Market and product development to effectively connect with prospective and existing developers 
  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing on developer-focused assets, and key positioning / narratives to raise awareness and interest across developer and partner communities

Competitive Intelligence and Analysis 

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies to help Vim maintain a competitive edge in the market 
  • Translate market insights into actionable strategies to enhance our product offering
  • Enhance and maintain existing competitive analysis documentation

Product Feedback & Processes

  • Handle support of feedback aggregation, reviews, monthly insights and prioritization for product roadmap 
  • Participate in and lead clinic feedback sessions to better understand end-user sentiment 
  • Support commercial team training on new products and new product features; manage regular support questions / requests 

Who we are looking for 

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strategic vision, ability to think creatively and test concepts “grassroots.” You should have a proven track record of success in technical development / engineering, product management, strategic functions, and / or operational roles. We are looking for someone who started their career in software development, understands how it works, and now wants to focus on product and customer-facing activities. You understand and can explain concepts like platform architecture, services-based architecture, full stack, rest APIs, integration, and more.

What You’ll Need

  • 6 - 8 years of experience in startup organizations with proven scale and growth in an autonomous function 
  • Experience in both product management and software engineering 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Be located in commuting distance to our amazing Vim NYC Offices located in the Chelsea area of Manhattan! 

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare / health information technology industry experience 
  • Experience working with international teams

Compensation and benefits includes:

Salary Range: $150,000- $180,000 USD (based on experience and market standards) 

Equity Compensation: Stock options subject to the company policy and board of directors approval
