The Innovation and Global Digital Partnerships organization defines the next phase of Innovation for Visa through our global network of Innovation Centers and leads the development and commercialization of Visa products and solutions for Big Tech, Fintech and Platform partnerships.

Role Description

Reporting to the head of strategic solutions in the Innovation and Global Digital Partnerships team, the Director, Solution Architecture, Cloud Partners will partner with leaders of products, marketing, and sales to deliver the most compelling solutions in corporate finance, procurement, and sales, improving efficiencies in cash flow, cross-border sourcing, receivables, and working capital. 

This role requires a strong sense of ownership, vision, curiosity, critical thinking, creative problem solving, breadth of knowledge and thought leadership. The candidate will have strong expertise in public and private cloud environments, payments, commercial cards, data solutions and IT systems integrations to other business applications including on-prem and legacy environments.

This role is for you if you enjoy working in a highly cross-functional and fast-paced environment, collaborating, rallying, and aligning teams and their executives across products, marketing, sales, and customer success, including partners and customers.

You are accountable to bookings, revenues, and pipeline growth for all products under Cloud solutions, and supporting sales, sales enablement, and field marketing teams. Significant experience in delivering customer centric solutions and product strategy by working closely with technology and engineering teams is a critical qualification. The candidate is expected to work with senior level customers and partners to bridge client needs with relevant solutions and products and drive adoption.

Success in this role requires an analytical mind, problem solving, passion, curiosity, and a drive to produce results in successful product adoption, customer engagement, business impact, and revenue growth.

Essential Functions

  • Define a vision and strategy for cloud-native payment and embedded finance solutions based on market analysis, customer needs, and competitive assessments.
  • Evangelize Visa capabilities with customers, partners, employees, and the broader public (analysts and press)
  • Partner with technical leadership and product development teams in influencing product roadmap, delivering new feature functionality and compelling solutions to market.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy and plan with select partners and rally internal teams across sales, marketing, product, and digital partnerships.
  • Deliver thought-leadership presentations, content, and programs with internal and partner-facing teams.
  • Define and position relevant content to be used in sales enablement, value-engineering, and collaborate on thought-leadership presentations, content, solution blueprints, demos, white papers and solution briefs.
  • Identify, document, and create best-practices processes and tools to scale solution selling including blueprints, playbooks, revenue plans.
  • Engage and collaborate with third-party partners such as systems integrators, independent software vendors to complete solution sets that meet the needs of our customers and drive revenue.
  • Be the subject matter leader representing Visa with partners and customers to present solution and product roadmap to customer executives.
  • Drive customer and partner engagement from executive leaders to technical implementation teams through the pre-sales and post-sales stages to ensure solution fit and desired business outcomes.
  • Plan and conduct discovery sessions to uncover business requirements and value drivers, and set-up and execute the delivery of workshops identifying business value-proposition, proposed solution architecture, and financial analysis of business impact for key accounts.
  • Envision, plan, and lead delivery of Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) of customer-centric solutions that enable business growth for our clients.
  • Create, manage, and drive engagements in partner advisory boards and product councils.
  • Deliver world-class executive proposals, reports, and presentations with strategic messaging that speaks to the C-suite economic buyer.
  • Support the launch of new products and program management by working with key stakeholders across products, GTM, and business development teams.
  • Develop high-performing cross-functional teams and nurture relationships with product managers, technical leads, and sales specialists.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Experience in SaaS and public cloud with strong knowledge of development environments like AWS, Azure, GCP, plus virtual machines, containers, cloud security, optimization, and continuous integration/delivery.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in a Product Management or Solutions Engineering roles delivering cloud solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15-18 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 12-15 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 10+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Knowledge of financial services markets, preferably with strong knowledge of card payments industry, electronic payments, their products, services and technologies
  • Proven experience in leading successful GTM planning and execution
  • Strong experience in market research, business modeling, pricing, revenue planning, business case and ROI, and competitive analysis
  • Experience working in matrixed organization across functions internally and with partners/customers, including product, marketing, sales, and customer success
  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering and analysis in IT systems integration with attention to security and connectivity
  • International experience with the understanding of local business practices and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence, and cultivate a high-performing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (Written & Oral)
  • Flexible, intellectually curious, creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty
  • Inspire and influence peers in matrixed project structures as well as senior stakeholders and decision makers
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, management information, finance or equivalent
  • Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
  • Willingness to travel (25%)

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 213,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
