Design of hydro governing system and its auxiliaries including its instrumentations; perform the related work under guidance of Principal /Lead Engineer for large hydro. Engineers have a role and responsibility to take up work with engineers and Designer too.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Safety (EHS) in Design
  • Quality in design (FPY)
  • Always keep track of OTDs and Ensure delivery of design documents on time as per master time schedule (MTS) and in allotted hours budget
  • Analyze the contractual requirement of relevant scope of work and interfaces
  • Prepare design documents following design practices and under guidance of Principal engineer/ system integrator.
  • Validation of all basic and detail design work performed by engineers about all design reviews and related documentations.
  • Assist Principal engineer engineer/ leader/ System integrator for carrying out all design reviews and related documentations
  • Review and reply to customer/SI comments and update documents accordingly
  • Communicate and maintain design interface sheets with other functions
  • Prepare / validation of purchase specification of different systems and review of supplier offer/technical documents in co-ordination with supply-chain
  • Co-ordinate with designers/ engineer and PDE team for elaboration of details design
  • Prepare detail design documents and release them in ENOVIA
  • Performing/Asist in performing inhouse loop testing of governor panels and governor OPU
  • Co-ordinate with supplier quality team as and when required
  • Co-ordinate with construction and commissioning team as and when required
  • Occasional site visit/trouble-shooting
  • Perform technical support to Supply Chain and manufacturing follow-up 
  • Finish the tasks assigned by Manager/Lead engineer within time.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/electrical/electronic Engineering from reputed university or Diploma with good relevant experience
  • Total years of experience should range between 5- 8 years
  • Should have good knowledge of hydraulic P&IDs of hydro governors
  • Should have knowledge of functional understanding of HP compressors, governor OPU, MIV OPU, their instrumentation, Turbine and MIV instrumentation, unit operating sequences, etc.
  • Should have good knowledge to perform Oil/Air Piping in 3D and 2D software, Exposure to BIM is desirable.
  • Functional knowledge of digital governing system (PID controls), their standard features, regional grid requirements, FGMO/RGMO, etc. is desirable.
  • Should be acquainted with main design/sizing criteria of governing equipment and relevant international standards 
  • Should be able to check documents and guide engineers/designers to perform electrical wiring diagrams of governor panel, marshaling boxes, local control cubicles, cable list
  • Should be acquainted with relevant IEC/IEEE standard of hydro governing system
  • Should be acquainted with different ASME/ISO/DIN standard used in industry
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS-office
