What you'll do

The Product-Led Growth (PLG) engineering team is responsible for a wide array of Customer Growth and Commerce related web customer experience (think landing, sign-up, micro-frontend powered payment portal, promo widget, checkout experience, and many others). We directly own DocuSign.com, and DocuSign’s ecommerce platform, and closely partner with Docusign’s core eSign, payment backend, and marketing engineering teams. 

DocuSign is looking for a highly motivated Lead Software Engineer to join our Product-Led Growth team. This person will work in a close knitted development with multiple pods of 4-6 frontend engineers to develop, test, support features and experimentation on Docusign.com and other related experiences.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Engineering. 

Responsibility

  • Serve as the technical lead for Docusign.com, guiding the scalability and strategic direction of platforms
  • Make substantial contributions to our technical architecture that pave the way for future enhancements
  • Excel in on-call responsibilities, including the creation and revision of runbooks and SOPs
  • Mentor team members on effective incident response and alert investigation techniques
  • Lead by example in performing RCA for both typical and atypical issues
  • Assist team members in identifying and resolving anomalies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Author, review, and approve requirements and designs for multiple projects within your domain
  • Engage with domain experts to ensure alignment with architectural standards and best practices
  • Pioneer new directions in critical technologies, contributing significantly to projects that set the stage for future advancements
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, even in complex or large-scale scenarios

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • BS degree in CS or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience leading technical teams and managing complex web platforms
  • Expertise in Next.js, React and common cloud architecture components (AWS or Azure)with a strong background in web development and architecture
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of mentoring team members and influencing technical decisions

Preferred

  • Professional experience leading a team in a SaaS environment
  • Experiencing implementing solutions (built or integrated) for web personalization
  • Proficiency in using analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to analyze website performance, user behavior, and marketing campaign effectiveness
  • Experience with headless CMS architectures and their role in creating dynamic, SEO-friendly, and scalable web experiences

Wage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $165,800.00 - $265,625.00 base salary

Illinois and Colorado: $157,900.00 - $223,075.00base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $157,900.00 - $234,275.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
