This new Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and GBUs into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture.

Brief summary on the role:

The purpose of the Head A2R – Hyderabad Hub is run the defined activities as per the Target Operating Model for the Sanofi group from Hyderabad and thereby contributing to the accounting data recording and the final sign-off of the financial statements across the Sanofi affiliates.

The role will have the overall accountability of the end-to-end A2R operations that will be delivered from the Hub and to partner with Country and Regional A2R Heads as well as the A2R Hub Heads in Budapest, Bogota and Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities:

Account-to-Report (A2R) is one of the end-to-end processes and part of Business Operations. The role of the Head A2R Hyderabad Hubs is to run defined Sanofi A2R processes from the Hub thereby contributing to accounting data recording and the production and sign-off of financial reports.

The Head A2R Hyderabad will be responsible for different processes which are defined as per the Target Operating Model. Some of the processes are listed below, these may evolve depending on how the final target operating model framing:

  • Fixed assets,
  • Intercompany
  • Inventories
  • Cash Accounting
  • Closing & Reporting
  • Audit support as needed
  • Master Data/Continuos Improvement Activities as needed

The Head Hyderabad Hub is a member of the Global A2R Leadership Team and also will be a part of the Hub Leadership

The Hyderabad Hub will evolve gradually from 2024 to first half of 2026 as processes get migrated and the Hub will operate at full strength from 2026 onwards. The role of the Hub Head is also therefore lead this transition journey.

Main responsibilities:

Service Delivery

  • Deliver efficient, high quality and compliant A2R activities in full alignment with the A2R global Core Model and according to the target performance KPI’s. A2R activities are mainly :
  • Fixed Assets accounting – asset life cycle management (record creation, cost accumulation, depreciation / valuation, impairment, scrapping and write-offs),
  • Bank accounting – perform bank reconciliation, clear transitory accounts, book entries related to financial instruments, calculate and book forex net position.
  • Financial closing and reporting – check integration of automatic transactions, analyse and close GLs, contribute to month-end closing activities (MJE’s, account reconciliations) and provide on time Group financial reportings .
  • Master data: maintain chart of accounts
  • Internal control: perform internal control activities where the hub is control owner, support SOX audits by external auditors.
  • Support external financial audits.
  • Perform Intercompany Activities and Inventory accounting activities as per Core Model
  • Monitor adherence to the A2R Core Model thru build/maintenance of adequate process documentation (Level 6/7) and timely resolution of Core Model gaps.
  • Ensure compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting/reporting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements 

Continuous improvement/Projects

  • Promote and impulse the implementation of best-in-class processes and policies
  • Champion process automation initiatives leveraging on digital technologies 
  • Promote standardization and simplification of A2R processes at level 6/7
  • Ensure that key A2R projects deliver the expected benefits in terms of efficiency, cost and quality
  • Leverage operational experience and contribute to design of global A2R processes in close collaboration with the A2R GPO team
  • Develop external network with other A2R Heads of hubs in India to ensure own A2R processes are/become Best in Class
  • Deliver A2R projects supporting the A2R strategic roadmap and other Group projects where A2R is involved

Sanofi Hub expansion

  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand A2R activities in the hub 
  • Ensure a smooth transition of new activities to the Hyderabad hub in line with the A2R Core Model and Target Operating Model
  • Contribute to arbitrate any operational issue escalated by the country teams and/or the Hub team
  • As a member of the Hyderabad hub Leadership Team, contribute to hub activities linked to:
  • stakeholders management
  • employee engagement (including management of staff retention and attrition at a healthy level)
  • employer branding (with the sector of associations, institutes, GBS networks and government units)
  • Corporate Social Responsibility programs
  • establishment of a robust business continuity framework

Stakeholders’ management / user experience

  • Ensure A2R Core Model components are well understood to perform an effective implementation
  • Set up close relationships with global, regional and local stakeholders when needed to allow smooth communication, efficient change management and issue resolution
  • Collect stakeholders feedback and provide feedback to stakeholders for mutual improvement

People Management

  • Give visibility and communicates on the global and hub strategies
  • Set objectives for his/her staff and assess the contributions during interviews
  • Develop team skillset to adapt to evolving roles in A2R coming from new technologies and changes in organization and ensure corresponding workforce planning
  • Oversee hiring process and manage career path for his/her team
  • Develop talent through job rotation, adequate people development plans and promotion of end to end process knowledge
  • Foster performance culture within his/her team
  • Reward employees by recommending salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.

Geographical Scope : Global scope for defined processes as per target operating model.

About you

Experience

  • Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant with strong 12/15 years of experience in Finance domain in the areas of Accounting, Reporting, Finance Operations, FP&A. Tax etc
  • Expérience in A2R delivery will be an advantage
  • Track record of having effectively managed transformation programs with change management
  • Track record in process improvement
  • Experience of working within or with a Shared Service
  • Must have supervised teams and have a 360 degree view on all the acocunting processes and their impact on financial statements

Expected skills

  • Very good understanding of Accounting processes and relevant Finance processes
  • Very good understanding of the Global A2R Core Model and Target Operating Model
  • Good knowledge of SAP and of digital technologies applicable to A2R
  • Ability to think strategically, to take a helicopter view and also to deep dive into operational problems when required
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to shape culture and mindset, motivate a large group of people to work towards a common set of goals
  • Ability to build good collaboration with stakeholders and other departments and work transversally
  • Very good change management skills
  • Strong delivery and problem-solving skills
  • Very good communicator with an ability to discuss at all levels within Sanofi and externally
  • Very good program and project management skills
