What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • This position is responsible for coordinating and ensuring execution of all activities associated with inbound merchandise receipts: including appointing, reconciliation, and managing vendor/carrier/DC required information or concerns. 
  • Coordinating all inbound receipts and scheduling activities with internal and external parties, including Logistics, Accounts Payable, Merchandising, Vendors, Carriers and respective agents. 
  • Manages and maintains logs of carrier, carrier agent correspondence, problem resolution, and forwards the information to the appropriate members of the Operations Management and Logistics staff.
  • Ensure appointment requests are responded to within the set parameter of a 24-hour period. 
  • Deals with inquiries and issues, and resolves them in an appropriate manner, adhering to the Company’s policy and practice standards. 
  • Creates and maintains various reports related to inbound activities.
  • Schedules, prioritizes, and coordinates inbound receipts to meet changing production needs within time standards (i.e. priority containers, over the road (OTR), rush shipments).
  • Participates in all activities associated with inbound merchandise receipts.
  • Assists in the timely pick up of empty trailers and containers.

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • OSSD Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a fast paced high volume data entry role.
  • Knowledge of Data Centre and Receiving operations within Distribution Services or logistics (i.e. Dock Appointment Scheduling, Visibility systems).
  • Ability to be flexible with strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Intermediate computer skills including spreadsheets (i.e. Windows, MS Office), keyboarding, word processing, e-mail, Mainframe application i.e. IMSP and SCAN.
  • Ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships with Distribution Services, Management, Associates and external contacts.
  • Strong trouble shooting, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide direction to ensure delivery of set expectations and targets are achieved.
  • Customer service skills; including effectively and efficiently responding to inquiries and identifying stated and unstated customer needs.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
