As a Business Financial Analyst, reporting to the Albuquerque, NM controller, you will be a part of the ELIP Finance/Accounting team mainly supporting the Albuquerque, site. You will be responsible to perform support activities within General Accounting, Financial Analysis, Reporting & Consolidation in line with defined strategies, policies, and procedures. This role will work onsite in our Albuquerque, NM facility.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensuring timely and efficient communication with controllers and the Finance/Accounting team to identify and discuss issues and suggestions for improvement
  • Month-end activities to include (but not limited to): account analyses, account reconciliations, journal entry creation, posting and review, inventory analyses, balance reconciliations
  • Helping to prepare financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting documents and presentations
  • Financial compliance reporting to include monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews
  • Validate the accuracy of operational and financial data, business information and reports by performing reconciliations and reviews of exceptions
  • Take the lead in sustaining the alignment with Accounting Policy, Internal Controls and Assurance while maintaining a proper audit trail and documentation for future audits and reviews
  • Communicating information to relevant stakeholder groups to support corrective action plans
  • Optimizing performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplication, and coordinating information requirements
  • Establishing and overseeing processes and tools to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree with 2 plus years of work experience OR High school diploma/GED with 4 plus years of work experience required
  • Educational major of accounting, finance or business administration strongly preferred
  • 5 plus years of work experience in an accounting or financial analyst role required
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including Oracle, SAP, ERP or related financial systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Cost accounting experience preferred
  • Requires English language skills and proficiency
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
