The Insights, Data Engineering, and Analytics Team (IDEAs) under Data Platform & Growth is looking for a passionate, creative, analytical, and experienced Data Scientist who loves big data, curious to identify ways to track customer acquisition and retention journey and explore and unveil insights to create a business story and reporting to impact key business decisions. Our team provides the data and insights needed to run and grow the business supporting Microsoft M365 ecosystem.

This Data Scientist position is a key role that serves as a subject matter expert on tracking and understanding customer acquisition and retention journey to help business optimize strategy to grow our M365 subscriber base and ways to make the best feature for Microsoft M365 ecosystem products.
The scope encompasses delivering timely business performance reports, crafting compelling storytelling presentations, and developing dashboards for leadership. Additionally, it involves a deep understanding of user purchasing and renewal flows, providing data expertise to partners on best practices for tracking these journeys to ensure accurate business performance reporting.
Furthermore, the role involves exploring and comprehending various data sources, both new and existing, that contribute to our data pipeline for end-to-end reporting and insight generation. This may require the discovery and exploration of new data sources, conducting research, creating proof of concepts, and collaborating with Product Management and Engineering teams to operationalize data assets, thereby democratizing business insights.

o OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) or consulting experience
o OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
o OR equivalent experience.

Data Science IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
