  • Enjoys architecting elegant solutions to technical and customer problems
  • Stays up-to-date with modern technologies and practices

  • 4+ years of software development experience

  • Strong advocate for quality
  • Have a good software development practice - good patterns, solid documentation, tests
  • Experience writing and tuning SQL queries
  • Able to architect software solutions that consider both performance and future maintainability in a large existing codebase
  • Experience in building complex, highly scalable software systems.
  • Deep understanding of best engineering practices for the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and operations.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing to travel to Austin, TX once per quarter

Nice to haves

  • Functional programming experience, especially Elixir

About our team

We are a nimble team spanning all of the US time zones, and we have a lot of fun working together! Aside from the quarterly gathering, we work 100% remotely, using mainly Slack and Google Meet as our communication tools. Egos are checked at the door—everyone supports each other and puts the team first. As part of our company culture we try to keep meetings to a minimum, though we do make time for a daily game of lolbeans or skribbl as a way to connect on a more personal level.

We offer competitive pay and benefits, plus equity. Despite being a startup, we do value work/life balance.

About Rabbet:

Through our core values of Relationships and Transparency, Rabbet strives to create an inclusive workplace where we welcome persons of all backgrounds. Despite being a startup, we do value work/life balance and we offer competitive pay, benefits, and equity.

At Rabbet, we aim to connect people and data to streamline construction finances. Lenders and real estate developers use Rabbet to manage their construction finance for projects from $500,000 to over $500 million. A rabbet is a joint in woodworking and as rabbets strengthen connections in woodworking, Rabbet works to strengthen connections in construction lending.

Rabbet is backed by a leading FinTech VC (QED), a leading real estate tech VC (Camber Creek), a large strategic investor (Goldman Sachs), and Y Combinator. You’ll be joining a company that values efficiency, guidance, transparency, and relationships. We’re a small team (~20 employees), so there’s plenty of opportunity to have a big impact.

We commit to our customers - and the construction lending industry as a whole - to walk side-by-side through the continual evolution of the construction financing process. We combine deep domain expertise and technology to bring forward innovation in construction finance.
