About the role:

We’re looking for our next Finance Manager or Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance team in the APAC region. You will be a goal-oriented, highly accurate team player and will help Edpuzzle continue to build a high-performing Finance organization. To succeed, you will need to be a master of organization with strong attention to detail and achieve a month-end close deadline. About the job:

  • Responsible for FP&A activities including budgeting, planning, and forecasting, as well as reporting/analyzing key business metrics
  • Monitor and approve purchase requisitions to ensure the financial results will come within the budget
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reviews for the leadership teams pinpointing key insights, shortfalls, and opportunities
  • Partner closely with Recruiting, HR, and Business leaders to manage headcount and plan hires that fit within the financial plans
  • Identify and monitor key sales metrics such as ARR, New Bookings, Renewals, Upsells, churn, etc
  • Prepare and analyze full-funnel metrics by region and segment
  • Improve planning processes and systems and financial reporting structure and processes to enhance management visibility and decision-making
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis to provide financial visibility and unlock opportunities, improve conversions, and improve Returns on Investments
  • Help create and maintain dashboards (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce and Tableau) to provide valuable insights to senior leadership
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparations in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare journal entries in the following (but not limited to) areas: revenue, accrued expenses and payroll
  • Fixed asset and depreciation
  • Internally developed software
  • Approve journal entries that are prepared by other accountants
  • Perform or review and approve revenue recognition analysis that is prepared by other accountants
  • Prepare or review and approve balance sheet reconciliation that is prepared by other accountants
  • Review and approve Purchase Requisitions that are submitted by Accounts Payable Accountants
  • Participate and lead new system implementation(s)
  • Assist in tax preparation and filing

Additional responsibilities as a Finance Manager:

  • Manage timely month-end close
  • Educate and provide training to other members of the accounting team on technical accounting matters
  • Develop and implement accounting and finance policies and procedures
  • Proactively identify, independently research, and document complex technical accounting matters
  • Partner cross-functionally to design, implement, and document processes and internal controls
  • Establish a solid control environment that will support our progression from private to public
  • Prepare clear, concise, and timely technical accounting white paper memos on complex, non-routine transactions
  • Partner with the broader Accounting team to implement efficient, scalable, US GAAP-compliant accounting processes
  • Assist in the Company’s SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance efforts as they relate to technical accounting and accounting policies
  • Automate the accounting system and other tools where possible
  • Liaise with external auditors and other external consultants to drive timely accounting conclusions and disclosures

About you:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in GL accounting and FP&A is required. US company experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance, or related field. CPA or MBA is required
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies
  • Experience with a high-growth enterprise business. B2B SaaS is preferred
  • 5-8 years of progressive and relevant experience in areas such as FP&A, corporate finance, and investment banking
  • Thoughtful financial modeling capabilities focused on enterprise subscription businesses
  • Strong systems aptitude and expert-level proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience in BI tools
  • Excellent problem-solving diagnosis and analytical skills
  • Understanding of GAAP revenue recognition standards and accruals.
  • Experience in supporting finance executives such as controllers, VPs of Finance, Heads of Finance, or CFOs is required
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to explain complex accounting matters to a non-finance audience
  • Ability to follow accounting standards, company policies, and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, balance workload independently, and meet deadlines
  • Must be a dependable team player with a positive attitude
  • English proficiency is required

  • Prior experience with QuickBooks accounting system, NetSuite and salesforce.com
  • Experience in SaaS or edtech company
