The Tanzu Sales Finance team is part of Tanzu’s WW Sales Finance team. This team is responsible for reviewing, adjusting, analyzing, and reporting bookings data. This role collaborates with various functions within VMWare supporting Finance, Sales, Business- and Sales- Ops teams with accurate bookings data, enabling them to drive the strategic decision-making process.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6 months you will work toward completing?

  • Within 30 days in your new role, you will be able to understand the VMware Operational standard procedures, booking related processes and get familiar with the business supported by our team.
  • In this role, you will play a crucial part by coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Within 60 days you would be independently updating and reviewing all incoming bookings data, submit necessary changes as needed by the business, reconcile all appropriate system of record (mainly SAP & Salesforce).
  • Within 120 days you would be able to have discussions related to deal structure with key business partners and be able to provide guidance based on bookings policy and other relevant rules.
  • Within 180 days along with the above, you will be ready to propose process- and reporting improvements and possible automation.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

You will be part of a global team that provides the visibility, reporting and insight for data driven decision making.

Being able to review, adjust and administer large amounts of bookings data, with sometimes complex deal structures, is key for this role.

  • Daily you will review all incoming global Tanzu Sales bookings data, understand whether a subscription booking is considered a renewal or incremental and determine the appropriate booking treatment
  • Coordinate, submit and follow up on required bookings adjustments
  • Reconcile all appropriate systems of record (mainly SAP & Salesforce)
  • Enter and adjust bookings in Salesforce
  • Consolidate bookings data as needed

The hiring manager for this role is Mark Schils, Senior Manager - MAPBU Sales Finance, also based in Heredia. Mark’s philosophy is about encouraging team members to be independent thinkers and not feel like he is looking over their shoulder. Open communication is important to Mark, and he is looking for team members who can think out-of-the-box and then execute on a good idea.

The broader team is spread across the globe in Austin, Palo Alto, Sofia, and Australia. Your primary focus will be on the AMER region, closely collaborating with colleagues in the US.

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The location of this role is flexible within Heredia region. Work will be done from an office some days during a week and other days remotely.
