The design of high voltage (HV) devices, such as gas circuit breakers (CB), requires – among others – the measurements of the dielectric withstand as well as switching performance. Additionally, the research activities in the area of gas circuit breakers are enhanced by various computer-aided-engineering tools. The aim of the internship is to carry out the setup of experiments and laboratory equipment, perform experiments, experimental data post-processing and analysis using in-house tools in order to improve the performance. The superior goal is the achievement of high-end quality and performance of the final product. The duration of the internship is 6 to 12 months.

Your responsibilities

  • Working in projects for current interruption and dielectric performance measurements
  • Setup of experiments and laboratory equipment
  • Execution, evaluation and documentation of experiments
  • Experimental data post-processing and analysis using in-house tools

Your background

  • Student in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics
  • Team player and well organized
  • Creative and can work autonomous
  • Laboratory and experimental experience are advantage
  • Knowledge in MS-Office, Python and Matlab is an advantage
