The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the warehouse, distribution center, and order fulfillment teams. This position will achieve overall operating results consistent with individual and company performance goals. The General Manager will manage processes, record keeping, safety protocol, and inventory control to ensure that all employees, service providers, equipment, and physical assets are safe and secure. Additionally, the General Manager will train and coach team members to ensure ongoing skill development and advancement.

  • Create clear goals for safety, customer experience, and productivity and manage and achieve goals without close supervision.
  • Assess business conditions, evaluate emerging business needs, and take action to improve service, reduce cost; innovate to enhance operational results.
  • Provide leadership and support to department managers, supervisors and leads; initiate counseling for managers and supervisors surrounding team management to ensure a positive and productive working environment for employees across each functional area.
  • Evaluate individual and team performance of each business function, address performance gaps, and take corrective action to ensure each functional area delivers on operating goals.
  • Oversee product flow and implement new processes as required in order to improve efficiency and support growth.
  • Develop systems to track and maintain positive results for order reliability/dependability, receiving, and distribution.
  • Create programs to train and retain warehouse, distribution center, and order fulfillment employees in order to meet business needs.
  • Prepare proposals to replace or upgrade facilities and equipment; submit proposals to the Vice President of Supply Chain.
  • Track metrics for performance and safety; analyze metrics and report findings monthly.
  • Conduct safety meetings with warehouse, distribution center, and fulfillment teams; deliver a track record of safety through assessing current safety practices and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Interface with other departments within the company to create a collaborative environment for solving problems and improving support of company goals.
  • Work with third party to providers to manage equipment, maintenance and human resource needs to have an efficient and effective operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in retail operations, distribution, order fulfillment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leader with a high standard of integrity and reliability.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role managing a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize, and coordinate activities effectively in complex situations.
  • Extensive experience and skill in retail distribution processes, supply chain management, and warehouse operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems including high-speed conveyor systems and other automated equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex and detailed information verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes nights and weekends when necessary.
