Cabinet Expressions is looking for a motivated individual to join our Coalhurst team as a Paint Prep Technician. The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for the preparation of various materials for refinishing. Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• Sanding wood, veneer, and MDF cabinet doors and other components
• Prepping components for priming, stain and polyurethane finishes
• Repairing imperfections in wood
• Staining wood components
• Sanding products between finish coats
• Adhere to deadlines for paint production schedules
• Maintain a clean and organized workplace
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
• Assist paint sprayer as needed.

Working Conditions:

This job is a full-time position, with the hours of 7:30am-5pm Monday through Friday. Work will be conducted indoors. Paint Prep Technicians are often exposed to loud noises, contaminants, fumes and hazardous work equipment around the shop, making PPE required. Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time and make repetitive movements, such as bending and twisting. Employees must be compliant with health and safety standards and promote a positive work environment. A full-benefits package will be provided following the probationary period. The Starting wage for this position is $18 per hour.

Requirements: 

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Knowledge and experience in painting or paint preparation
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools
• High attention to details, taking pride in work
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines on project work
