What you will do

As Manager Tax Operations & Statutory Finance you will be responsible for owning the statutory financial position of the Middle East, UK & Ireland for Legal Entity income tax forecasting, corporate tax reporting and statutory compliance.

In this role you will act as strategic consultant to higher level management and internal stakeholders (Business Finance, Controllership, Procurement etc), playing a critical role in planning and consulting regarding operations in the countries. You will gain experience in the resolution of broad and complex issues which have a major impact on net income of the Johnson Controls group.

This role provides unique growth opportunity to work alongside the Tax Planning team and develop a significant understanding of international tax concepts.

How you will do it

  • Create and implement a strategic tax plan for the organization’s legal entities.
  • Support the organization’s tax policy objectives.
  • Forecasting of statutory income and corporate income tax expense.
  • Manage tax controversy and relationship with tax authorities.
  • Overall coordination of the statutory compliance calendar and statutory audit engagement.
  • Review of material local statutory financial statements and corporate income tax returns.
  • Training and technical support on statutory finance matters to the team.
  • Maintain knowledge of local and global corporate tax developments, particularly OECD BEPS impacts.
  • Support in the implementation of process improvements and technological innovation in the tax processes.
  • Support the M&A team with tax due diligence on ad-hoc projects.
  • Financial reporting for the corporate business units responsible for ERP development and the centralized procurement function.

What we look for

Required

We will primarily consider candidates with one of the following backgrounds 1) Experienced in financial accounting and forecasting 2) Experienced with Direct Tax / Transfer pricing / Withholding Tax involved in tax planning in Middle East

Are you able to demonstrate the following?

  • Master's degree or equivalent with focus on finance and/or accounting or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience gained in a credible consultancy or multinational enterprise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Arabic & English
  • Experience in Middle East & UK financial accounting requirements
  • Exposure / understanding of the principles of Corporate Income Tax
  • Self-starter with proactive focus on value-add activity, in an environment with changing priorities and time constraints
  • Ability to build successful professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Hands on mentality, team player, able to work in a flexible manner

Preferred

  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles would be desirable but not essential
  • Familiarity with advanced excel analysis and Oracle Fusion and HFM/OneStream experience
