General Duties:
The Associate (Systems Engineer - Enterprise Tools) Maintain and update dashboards, queries, alerts, and synthetic tests as services are updated. Be a resource for assisting other departments to get proper alerting and dashboards setup for monitoring. Systems administered would include PagerDuty, DataDog, Splunk, Jira (TOC Workspace) and VisualCron. Cost optimization for monitoring and alerting services (example DataDog). Own initial smoke test troubleshooting. Verify and address 1st level troubleshooting such as high disk utilization, server load, verifying services are running etc.

Jira Service Catalog and Automation
Better data intake will allow for better service with more first contact resolution and better reporting. We can also use Jira to automate some tasks and eliminate some duplicative efforts.
Dashboard Updates and Maintenance for DataDog, Splunk, etc
Provide a better situational view. Many of the dashboards are broken or outdated and costs for services are not being actively managed.
Alert Curation and Updates for DataDog, Splunk, etc
Reduce noise and make content more relevant when we do get it. Some of the alerts still reference it-wiki for example.
Documentation of Systems
Confluence curation. Specifically targeting the more complex or technical content. There is a significant amount of missing or incomplete documentation.
