Danone is a global food company holding top positions in healthy food through its three businesses: Essential Dairy and Plant Based Products, Waters, and Specialized Nutrition. To further this mission, Danone Ventures (DV), Danone’s corporate venture team, was formed. Through DV, we identify early stage food and foodtech start-ups that share our vision of a future of healthy and sustainable food. Leveraging equity investments as a tool, we help facilitate strong value creating partnerships between Danone and start-ups. We have strong beliefs and convictions and look to partner with like-minded start-up’s as a key criteria of our investment philosophy. 

This coop position involves assisting DV in support of its strategic, collaboration and investment projects. This role is a unique opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to corporate venture capital, innovative start-ups, and a wide variety of business models and topics. This coop experience will last approximately 6 months and take place in the second half of 2024. The position will be based out of the New York City office.

About the Job:

  • You will help identify and research investment territories and start-up companies that align with the DV strategy
  • You will present category trends and interesting companies to the team
  • You will help manage our deal flow intake, process and review to help drive investment strategy
  • You will project manage team initiatives supporting the general operations of DV
  • You will support strategic projects involving our portfolio companies
  • You will utilize MS Excel and Powerpoint for communication with the team
  • You will conduct presentations to the team on your internship projects
  • You are currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program (preferably business degree focused)
  • You will have a strong curiosity and interest in the food and beverage related start-up ecosystem, particularly the future of food
  • You will have the ability to work autonomously, with a self-starter mindset and potentially projects that will require you to develop the execution roadmap
  • You are a critical thinker and specifically pay attention to detail
  • You will have strong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze data from a variety of sources to identify patterns/trends in the data and form conclusions and recommendations
  • You will have demonstrated ability to think strategically to generate ideas and solutions to business opportunities and challenges
  • You will have strength working with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel & PPT)
  • You will have solid written and verbal presentation skills in English
  • You will have comfort working in a team environment with leaders across all levels
