Associate Director/ Director Analytical Development (Bioassays) 2015092

Location: Boston, MA (Onsite)

Science: Cell & Gene Therapy

Job Overview: The Associate Director/ Director will lead the Bioassays team in Analytical Development designing, developing, and qualifying various phase appropriate bioassays to support our clients growing gene therapy pipeline, evaluating therapeutic functions and advancing preclinical candidates into the clinic.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize fit-for-purpose bioassays and functional assays for research-grade material, including mRNA and gRNA related products, leading a team of scientists and associates.
  • Create the analytical strategy and work plan for the Bioassay Analytical Development team, providing guidance and mentorship to direct reports.
  • Manage the technical transfer of analytical methods from AD to QC and external CDMOs, while assessing and implementing new technologies and assay platforms.

Primary Job Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in Biological, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related life sciences field with a strong scientific background and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate a preference for experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, particularly in teams involved in delivering complex biologics to patients.
  • Possess hands-on experience in analyzing DNA/RNAs or oligos using techniques such as ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR, flow cytometry, western blot, and other methods, with method development experience in mRNA/gRNA related DS/DPs.
