What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)

  • Data Governance and Strategy: Driving comprehensive data policy development and governance to ensure data is managed effectively and in compliance with relevant regulations. Develops and implements strategies to improve data quality, accessibility, and integrity.
  • Data Management and Architecture: Overseeing the development and maintenance of data architecture, databases, and data warehousing systems. This includes managing how data is collected, stored, managed, and utilized.
  • Innovation and Future Planning: Keeping abreast of developments in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to identify opportunities for applying these technologies in the organization.
  • Cultivating a Data-Driven Culture: Promoting data literacy and a data-driven culture within the organization. This includes training staff on data best practices and the importance of data in decision-making processes.
  • Data Analytics and Insights: Leading data analytics initiatives to support decision-making and strategic planning. Works to derive insights from data that can drive business growth and improve efficiency.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborating with various departments to ensure that data policies and practices align with organizational objectives and support the needs of different business units.
  • Data Privacy and Compliance: Ensuring the organization complies with data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR in Europe or CCPA in California. Responsible for implementing policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and prevent data breaches.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Managing relationships with external vendors and stakeholders related to data tools and services. This might include negotiating contracts for data acquisition or software solutions.
  • Reporting and Communication: Reporting on data initiatives, progress, and challenges to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Budget Management: Overseeing the budget for data management and analytics tools, personnel, and initiatives.

Who You Are: (skills and experience required)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science and relevant certifications.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in data management practices, including data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
  • Proven track record in leveraging analytics and business intelligence to drive decision-making and business improvements.
  • Experience in leading large-scale data projects, including the implementation of data management platforms and analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and others, especially in industries where data privacy is crucial.
  • Experience working across various departments, demonstrating the ability to align data strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage teams, inspire a data-driven culture, and drive change within the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate the value of data initiatives to stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in managing projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
  • Some Travel Required.
  • Music Industry experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events.
