JOB SUMMARY

Marriott International is seeking a FieldMarketing Manager to join the newly established Field Marketing Services function within the Indonesia above property marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and grow your marketing career with the world’s largest hotel company. 

This role has a focus on driving awareness and incremental revenue to hotels within Indonesia through integrated marketing across owned, earned and paid channels and will be responsible for facilitating the roll-out of marketing and communications initiatives within Indonesia, in accordance with the company’s global strategic objectives.

Additionally, the role will provide consultative marketing support to property level teams, including new opening hotels, to ensure compliance and participation with applicable policies and initiatives and to promote knowledge and best practice sharing.

The role will also work closely with other above property teams, including Marriott Digital Services, as well as APAC and Global Brand, Loyalty and Corporate Communications teams. 

The position will report directly into the Director, Field Marketing and will have a peer (Food & Beverage Marketing Manager). The role is suitable for applicants with qualifications in marketing and communications and at least 4 years’ experience working in marketing, with specific exposure to above property or ‘cluster’ marketing in hospitality and/or travel within the wider Asia Pacific region.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

MARKETING & COMMERCIAL:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management
  • Thorough understanding of marketing principles and at least 4 years’ related work experience
  • Experience working in an above property or ‘cluster’ hotel marketing role an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Asia Pacific media landscape
  • Commercially minded with strong business acumen 
  • Creative thinker with ability to connect creativity to business outcomes
  • Analytical nature – can interpret data into meaningful insights and actions 

GENERAL:

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Area Support

  • Co-develop and manage the implementation of above property marketing initiatives across public relations, loyalty, brand, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions
  • Assist in the development of event activations and project manage from outset through to activation, including venue, supplier and partner liaison, run sheets and management of invitations and RSVPs
  • Collaborate with the Director of Field Marketing and Area Director of Marketing to identify, negotiate and activate strategic partnership opportunities with aligned third parties 
  • Work with Director of Field Marketing to drive Destination Marketing for areas by identifying unique story angles
  • Prepare briefs and liaise with agencies on above property marketing projects and campaigns
  • Brief photographers and videographers on marketing guidelines / standards per brand / project and provide consultative support for hotels on photography and videography requirements
  • Source and negotiate influencer/media collaborations in support of above property marketing initiatives
  • Assist with negotiation of area and cluster media buys with key publications and media agencies
  • Own media relationships and develop media reports and post-activity analysis
  • Provide comprehensive support for pre-opening hotels’ marketing needs
  • Research and report on consumer and market insights and implement learnings and/or act on opportunities where applicable 

Hotel Support

  • Provide expertise on marketing channels by segment & work with hotel teams to develop property marketing plans
  • Work with Director of Field Marketing recommend market budget allocations
  • Identify cluster PR stories to optimize media awareness for hotels
  • Support with cluster / international media familization opportunities
  • Set up local / international media database support for hotel teams
  • Work with hotel teams to optimize overall hotel content
  • Support hotels with F&B marketing (where relevant)
  • Provide MICE / Wedding marketing expertise
  • Present Restaurant Marketing Benchmarks
  • Conduct hotel reviews and report out
  • Ensure hotel activation of partnership opportunities / offers and local pull-through of brand initiatives 
  • Collaborate with Director of Field Marketing to identify in-market specific partners
  • Plan and formulate both locally related promotions to increase brand awareness and foot fall to venues / restaurants
  • Monthly tracking, monitoring and evaluating respective partnership campaign performance and conduct profit & loss analysis on all executed campaigns
  • Ensure hotel activation of Marriott Bonvoy Moments, events/initiatives 
  • Work with hotel team to leverage on Marriott Bonvoy Restaurants & Bars function
  • Work with hotel teams to drive property Marriott Bonvoy enrollments
  • Plan / work with Director of Field Marketing to conduct brand immersions / trainings
  • On-boarding support for new hires on property and plan for their long term personal development
