Position Overview

The Drafter/Designer develops drawings for constructing new equipment or implementing changes to existing equipment.

This position is located at our Greenville Yard in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of detailed drawings 
  • Documentation and record keeping 
  • Obtaining bids for fabrication of equipment 
  • Compiling and awarding bid packages for fabrication of equipment 
  • Ensuring drawings meet Marine standards and regulatory compliance 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related experience preferred 
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting software required
  • Experience with AutoCAD Inventor preferred
  • Proficient skills in standard office software packages 
  • Ability to work 40-hour work week, M-F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., additional hours as needed 
  • This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language 
  • Must be willing and able to work outside the office as required to inspect and gather relevant information, including field dimensions, to allow completion of drafting projects. Outside office work to include visits to yard facilities and jobsites and includes accessing marine equipment.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to remain in seated stationary position for long periods of time 
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Ability to navigate around office to use equipment as needed 
  • Light lifting (up to 20 lbs.) as needed

Base Compensation: $63,000/yr - $66,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
