Position Description:

Ryerson has an opportunity for a Credit Analyst position. As a Credit Analyst you are responsible for maintaining or improving the accounts receivable portfolio for assigned branches, and all the adjunct responsibilities that go with managing the AR portfolio (credit reviews, limit increases/decreases, held orders, placement for collection/legal) and concise communication of expected results.

  • Concise communication with customers; outlining expectations and requirements to achieve desired results
  • Pro-active approach to managing priorities
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial credit law
  • Ability to drive results through continuous improvement
  • Negotiate for win-win results for Ryerson and the customer
  • Perform multiple tasks, achieve desired results and meet required deadlines on all tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to perform within a team environment and add to the overall success of the team
  • Timely collection of past due accounts, timely reporting to management and branches on progress with past due accounts and major account balances, and timely handling of credit block screens to ensure timely shipments to customers as well as mitigate risk to Ryerson
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance and/or Accounting AND 3 or more years of relevant credit experience,

OR

AA/AS in Business, Finance and/or Accounting AND 5 or more years of relevant credit experience,

OR

High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant credit experience

  • Credit-related experience is preferably in a wholesale distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial credit law.
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office Suite applications (MS-Excel, MS-Word and MS-Outlook).
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Able to perform job duties under stressful conditions
