As an Environmental Technologist Student, you will join our Edmonton, Alberta team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

  • Active participation in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culture
  • Perform a variety of field work
  • Assist with the field coordination and execution of Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments, remediation and ground water monitoring programs
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, work plans, and cost estimates
  • Support with surface reclamation, soil and vegetation assessments, and terrestrial work
  • Participate in spill responses and associated clean-up activities
  • Work with Project Managers and cross functional professionals to ensure project deliverables are in line with scope, timelines and budgets
  • Contribute to a variety of technical reports including analyzing, interpreting results and reporting on compiled project data
  • Travel, often to remote locations, will be required to carry out field programs.

What We Are Looking For

  • Must be enrolled in a technical diploma in the environmental sciences or engineering field at a post-secondary institution
  • Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Service-oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid driver’s license with no restrictions and clean driving record
