Freelance Transfer Tour Director – Northern Ireland

As a freelance Tour Transfer Tour Director reporting to the EF London Regional Office, you would meet North American travelers arriving or departing from Northern Ireland, between April and September 2024.

The role 

A Transfer Tour Director (TTD)’s role is to pick up the group and accompany them from the airport to their main Tour Director and vice versa. A TTD is needed when groups/travellers are arriving on different flights and the main Tour Director cannot pick them all up at the same time. 

The types of transfer you will lead will include airport to city transfers by coach or public transport and possibly also departure transfers from the hotel to the airport at the end of the tour. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Being part of a pool of freelance TTDs covering transfers throughout the week and weekends 
  • Available for shifts of between 3 to 8 hours 
  • Meeting groups of students and/or adults at the airport 
  • Being the face of EF and representing the company at all times 
  • Transferring groups via coach and/or public transport 
  • Connecting with the group’s Tour Director before and during the transfer 
  • Communicating with the group at the airport by welcoming them and giving out important safety & practical information.
  • Communicating with suppliers and EF Operations before and during the transfer where applicable
  • Ensuring the safety of the group/individual travellers and their belongings 
  • Purchasing local transportation tickets and handling payments where applicable

Requirements: 

  • Fluent written & spoken English 
  • Based in Northern Ireland reland, 45 minutes from Belfast airports.
  • Able to legally work in the UK and Ireland 
  • Available from April to September 
  • Willingness to work some early mornings from 5am onwards 
  • Organizational skills & good attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills 
  • Flexible to adapt to ever changing situations 
  • Remain calm under pressure 

Good to have: 

  • Experience leading groups or as a group leader 
  • Familiarity with your nearest airport 
  • Knowledge of North American culture
