Got what it takes? We are currently looking for a new Purchasing Specialist/ Buyer for the Purchasing team in Bucharest.

Mission & goals

The new member of the team will be part of the Purchasing department that operates at the corporate level of L’Oréal Romania. This role contributes to the efficiency of the Purchasing department, to the respect of internal control rules, contribute to KPI for performance, sustainability, data analytics and trend updates, using and mastering corporate tools.

The candidate has to be clearly stakeholders oriented, creating the conditions for trust, and delivering high service level in terms of soft skills, efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.

The mission cover all the aspects of the following operations:

  • Understanding the purchasing needs and demands. 
  • Identifying the suppliers/vendors for goods and services. 
  • Negotiating with the suppliers which include price, quality, delivery time, etc. 
  • Preparing purchasing specific terms and conditions as well as pricing quotes. 
  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with the vendors/suppliers. 
  • Compliance with company rules and regulations.
  • Staying up to date with the latest trends in the industry. 
  • Compliance with the way of working based on current procurement platform, developing tools and resources to raise maturity of Procurement and promote excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Zone team ensuring continuous process improvement and implementation projects.
  • Knowledge of the categories market by driving benchmark & RFX to support stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of the business needs, expectations, priorities and goals in all categories for the assigned division in order to help and support business.
  • Ability to identify new opportunities to bring tangible value, innovation and competitive advantage in cooperation with stakeholders.
  • Help to identify the initiatives, evaluate the savings in agreement with Purchasing Manager & Division Controllers and fill in the relevant information in the purchasing platforms.
  • Identify risks and opportunities of the current projects or initiatives, in agreement with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Continuous support for sustainability initiatives in Purchasing department on local level.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines  
  • Identifies at group level/ affiliates level all potential suppliers and existing feedback on eventual similar project deliveries  
  • Proposes commercial solutions to optimize costs, participating in defining and implementing Company's Program and other affiliates sourcing actions
  • Negotiates with integrity commercial terms of the contracts and use appropriate negotiation techniques
  • Challenges budget need compared with supplier quotations  
  • Checks budget availability before any purchasing action
  • Evaluates sourcing projects/commercial offers, proposes a shortlist, and makes final recommendations.  
  • Prepares Business reviews meetings together with the stakeholders’ department on targeted suppliers  

Expected Skills & Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in purchasing (Marketing Service / Business Services / Retail & Promo categories).
  • Basic legal knowledge  
  • University degree  
  • Analytic expertise to use Office excel at medium/advanced level
  • Experience in Project & Change Management
  • Agile approach and ability to build strong relationships 
  • Open mindset and approach business oriented, flexible, and curious
  • Strong in stakeholders’ management in a complex and numerous networks
  • Good communication and presentation skills and show flexibility in relation to other people  
  • Good planning, analytical and organizational skills  
  • Good negotiation skills and able to gain clear agreement and commitment 
  • Demonstrated ability to think independently, deliver results and recommend best practices.  
  • Meet deadlines and target for monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables  
  • Work in transversal projects and activities with different teams  
  • Strong skills in negotiation and contract management
  • Fluent Romanian and strong written and verbal English language skills
