EY is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our quantitative risk management and analytics team within Financial Services Business Consulting, to help capital market participants within global banking, capital markets and asset management in building and retaining a state-of-the-art risk management function. As part of the Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice you will take an active role in bringing our service offering ranging across financial and non-financial risks, liquidity and capital planning, regulatory compliance as well as structured finance and quantitative advisory services to our clients.

The Opportunity

As a FSRM Senior Manager, you can count on a highly skilled team with experience in advising clients in the area of quantitative risk management. You will work effectively as a team leader driving and coordinating go to market activities, leading engagements, providing subject matter expertise, while aligning closely with engagement directors and partners. Your key responsibilities

  • Acquire and lead financial risk management engagements, provide subject matter expertise, and ensure quality of the work delivered to clients
  • Understand the range of EY service offerings and actively develop new solutions and identify ways to better serve clients in the broad area of financial risk management
  • Leverage your external and EY internal network, develop, and maintain management level client relationships to pro-actively generate and convert opportunities in engagements
  • Contribute to EYs reputation as a market leader in risk management and drive solutions and thought leadership development
  • As an influential member of the team, you will also help to create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel team members and help them to develop.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Master of Science or PhD in mathematics, physics, statistics, econometrics, or another relevant quantitative field
  • Min. 8 years of relevant professional experience in a consulting environment, a model development or validation team in the financial industry
  • Established network in the Swiss financial market with a track record in leading risk management engagements
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory developments in financial risk management for financial services companies along with industry challenges, existing resources, and initiatives
  • Strong quantitative skills, in particular deep understanding of quantitative modelling techniques, with practical experience in credit risk, market risk and/or counterparty credit risk (Basel III – IRB, IMA, FRTB, IMM)
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English (French is an advantage)
  • Experience in managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability and appetite to drive business development and contribute to the growth of EY’s solutions
