JOB SUMMARY:

Support the development of Electronic Modules utilized in the control and monitoring of various systems on-board the aircraft. Tasks include documentation and performance of hardware and software verification, review of electronics schematics, layout, and code, and certification documentation of Textron-developed electronics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design review, hardware and software verification testing, and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
  • Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to functionally test and troubleshoot avionics/electrical modules or systems
  • Validate electronic circuit design concepts using SPICE or similar software
  • Review printed circuit board schematic and layouts
  • Review VHDL code used to modify and maintain Programmable Logic Devices
  • Review ASM and C used to modify and maintain microcontrollers
  • Support the preparation of engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
  • Participate in cross functional teams to understand and gather business requirements for new or updated processes

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Other related Engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or relative aviation technical or systems experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with use of electronic test equipment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160 desired
