Function:
Performs variety of cost accounting activities; register, control and audit fuel inventories as well as any purchases and expenses that affect costs related to the company operations.
Key responsibilities
Analyze the cost records and calculations of unit cost for products or services related to a specific job or product; examine any costs that seem contrary to past experience. Under limited supervision, conduct moderately complex costs audits. Record costs and expenses incurred product import, nationalization, and any other expenses related directly to the preparation of the product, and during its sale. Record of sales in accordance with purchase procedures.
Prepare and emit statistical reports for the comparison of costs and determination of profitability by product line. Prepare estimates of new or proposed product line costs. Analyze actual versus average costs and prepare reports of variances. Send product purchases reports and requests and book of invoices.
Inventory Control: register new inventory, monitor inventory movements, participate in physical inventories, and take control of the average cost in inventory. Monitor Spot purchases. Provide information to prepare the Holding Certificates for each oil tanker. Keep register of product purchase: Diesel, Regular, Premium or any other related product, and remittance of costs by product to the Supply Department. Perform table and monthly adjustment of inventories in accordance with certain losses. Send reconciled inventories to Supervisor.
Check the insurance payment for carriers. Register provisions of expenditures in nationalizations product imports, according to rates established by suppliers. Adjustments to provisions of freight carried out by the fleet itself. Provision payment of bills that in one way or another affect the cost. Monitor checks payable account with provider.
Register taxes related to the import of the product, differential exchange generated by the nationalization of product, provision of dollar bills by Supply entity. Perform bank reconciliations weekly. Perform accounting adjustments caused by bad data entry during billing. Perform integrations accounting of the balance sheet accounts and expenses related costs. Conciliate platts differences with Supply for product & oil tanker.
Performs variety of reports, for control related to costs and inventories. Support department backing up Cost Supervisor during absence (Senior Cost Accountant)
