Meet the team:

Within the R&D Software V&V team, our goals are to be best in class in test strategy, automation, implementation, and efficiency. This Senior level role will work cross-functionally within V&V, software development teams, and leadership to define, drive, and implement advanced automation techniques, technology, and strategy across all project workstreams. The Sr. SW Test Development Engineer will contribute to the full life cycle of software products in a fast-growing organization. 

Where you come in:

  • You will participate in the development of software requirements and design specification.
  • You will participate in building quality into products by writing automated tests and performing tests including ad hoc testing throughout the development cycle.
  • You design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test scripts to test the functionalities of the Dexcom CGM software, and system.
  • You document software verification test protocols, and software risk analyses, for software used in commercial products.
  • You will create verification and validation test plans, test reports, traceability matrices and review with relevant stakeholders.
  • You will analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to ensure root cause is investigated.
  • You will contribute to release process improvements.
  • You will provide technical guidance and mentorship for junior engineers.
  • You are a team player and will work well with teammates.

What makes you successful:

  • You have proficient knowledge of OOP languages such as JAVA, Kotlin, Swift, Python and Ruby.
  • You understand good software development and testing practices.
  • You have excellent oral communication skills for interfacing with peers in internal/external departments.
  • You have strong written skills and ability to follow Dexcom software procedures and generate required software documentation.
  • You have knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging, installation, and configuration.
  • You have proficiency with SW automation testing preferably with Mobile Automation including Appium, XCUI Test, Espresso, Earl Grey and UI Automator.
  • You have knowledge and experience working with software bug tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, Rational and test case management tool such as Test Rail, Rational, Xray
  • You have knowledge and experience with requirements management tools such as IBM Rational Doors, Jama Software, HP Application Lifecycle Management
  • You have experience with automation test frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestCafe, Appium, NightwatchJS or Cucumber

Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
