The Holy Cross Germantown Hospital Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides service to the medical staff and hospital leadership for the Regional Health Ministry to assist them in fulfilling their mission, plans and objectives which includes their responsibilities to the patient and the community for the provision of quality and cost-effective care. The Holy Cross Germantown Hospital CMO is responsible for the following areas: the direction of all medical staff and medical education activities at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, the Pharmacy Departments at both Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, the Radiation Treatment Center, and the Institutional Review Board/ Cancer Research Department. Works collaboratively with members of the Medical Executive Committee and the Holy Cross Health leadership team on high quality safe evidenced based patient care, hospital -based physician practices, physician contracting, and the patient care experience. Oversees Medical Staff compliance with external regulatory agencies (TJC, CMS, DHMH), and Graduate Medical Programs. This position also has impact on the quality and financial outcomes of clinical and operational departments throughout the Regional Health Ministry.

In all roles and activities, it is anticipated that the CMO will network and build consensus, collaborate, and problem solve. This position will play a key role in the implementation of strategic and operating plans, in particular the strategies for physician relationships and service line development. These activities and initiatives shall be accomplished through the existing and revised formal medical staff structures/committees, Medical Group/Health Network and voluntary medical staff multi-facility physician task forces, committees as well the CEO and Executive Team meetings and informative relationships.

What You Will Need:

M.D. with board certification in a specialty recognized by the ABMS

Current M.D. licensure in the state of Maryland

Able to obtain membership on the Medical Staff without clinical privileges

Five years clinical experience, preferably in a community hospital or private practice setting

Significant previous management experience such as, but not limited to, prior experience as a Medical Director or Vice President of Medical Affairs

MBA or equivalent preferred

Personal and professional values consistent with the mission, values, and philosophy of the Holy Cross Health System
