OCI Network Engineering and Delivery is looking of a Sr. Manager to lead our new Network Hardware Engineering organization. This new team is responsible for developing and executing the processes to design, qualify and deploy network hardware and components into the OCI network. This NHE Sr. Manager will operate as a group leader across our organization partnering with other leaders within Networking, Data Center, Region Build, Service Organizations and Operations. They will assist and be delegated duties from the area leader in delivering on our roadmap, strategy, documentation, employee performance reporting, critical project reporting, monthly business review preparation, vendor business reviews, hiring, staff management, compliance management, and other duties, as required. This leader will have experience with direct leadership, ability to formulate strategy, assist in validating and improving engineering functions, delivery of services and process improvement. With the rapid growth of our organization, the NHE leader should be comfortable operating in large, complex teams with an aptitude for driving details, but also up-level communication for senior executives. The Network Engineering organization operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and requires the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. They will have a broad scope of experience including network design, network security, compliance, and deployment processes. A background in logistics and finance is also an asset for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate as a leader within Networking; hire, develop people, manage performance, drive teams to produce needed input to feed our short- and long- term group needs
  • Manage the Network Hardware introduction and qualification Program within the Engineering and Delivery organization, including: 
  • Roadmap development, presentation, and execution
  • Hardware process development, service team integration, process improvement
  • Cross-team risk and dependency management
  • Run programs independently, including critical projects, executive project reporting and execution
  • Create presentations, documents and other artifacts needed to communicate across the organization
  • Help develop and maintain needed relationships with suppliers, vendors and third parties
  • Engage with sales teams, business leaders on aggregating long term and short-term engineering and deployment needs
  • Manage both technical and non-technical projects

Required Qualifications: 

  • Thorough understanding of process development, network technologies and logistics, including network design and fabrics, networking protocols, network automation, network telemetry and common hardware platforms
  • Direct knowledge of cloud infrastructure and management
  • Strong focus on hardware and cabling design
  • Focus on vendor quality program
  • Line management experience (direct reports); demonstrated ability to lead organization planning, hiring, performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, dive deep, and communicate key metrics to senior management in a timely manner
  • Record of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Critical attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Project Management experience in the networking domain 
  • Strong background in finance, accounting and/or business administration
  • Deep knowledge of multi-input demand planning and supply plan management 

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

US: Hiring Range: from $112,300 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
