Overview

As a Finance/Accounting Intern you’ll have the chance to help Altria shape the future and deliver winning results in an exciting and dynamic time. During our 12-week, paid summer program, you’ll experience on-the-job training, access to mentors, planned social events with other Altria interns, educational opportunities and see all that Richmond has to offer. You’ll be challenged and empowered to:

  • Own day-to-day responsibilities within your respective department. This may include performing assessments, analyses, compilations and closing procedures, identifying issues and proposing solutions with real-world impact.
  • Work on collaborative projects with fellow interns to enhance shareholder value creation.
  • Interns are valued team members and are expected to innovate with courage, while championing diversity and inclusion.

Areas you will be immersed in may include: Corporate Audit, Tax, Accounting & Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury and Corporate Planning.

To qualify for the summer intern program, student applicants must be:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program (Accounting or Finance preferred) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Individuals who have strong communication, strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills while also showing an ability to work well with others and demonstrate leadership initiative

To qualify for our internships or co-op assignments, you must be eligible to work full time within the United States without sponsorship. Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Housing assistance is available for eligible interns.
