Outpatient Psychologist, Managing Disruptive Behavior - Seattle Children's

The University of Washington’s Division of Child Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Seattle Children’s is seeking a full-time clinical psychologist specializing in Disruptive Behavior Disorders to join our Behavior and Attention Management Program (BAMP). Seattle Children’s is a large tertiary medical center affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine and serving a four-state area. The Behavior and Attention Management Program serves children and teens ages 5 to 15 with disruptive behavior or attention problems and their families. The program follows a stepped-care model, offering multiple parent behavior management training (PBMT) programs, ranging from moderate to high level of clinical intensity, to meet all family needs.

The psychologist will primarily be part of the Managing Disruptive Behavior Team in BAMP, which is focused on supporting families of children ages 5 to 11 who have higher acuity needs. The Managing Disruptive Behavior Team is a large, multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, mental health therapists, parent peer partners, case managers, and consulting psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and education specialists. The Managing Disruptive Behavior Team’s programming is designed to serve families of children recently discharged from the Seattle Children’s Emergency Department or Psychiatry and Behavioral and Medicine Unit (PBMU), a large inpatient psychiatry unit. This psychologist will lead PBMT programs for families with more moderate acuity needs, as well as deliver some diagnostic evaluation and treatment consultation services. This psychologist will also work with BAMP leadership to support with training, consultation, treatment implementation, and ongoing program development and evaluation; to bridge connections with the ED and PBMU; and to develop and deliver training and consultation supports to key community agencies and partners.

A faculty appointment in the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is part of the position. Faculty appointments in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences includes involvement in psychology and psychiatry training, research, and clinical care. The position includes participation in our University of Washington APA accredited internship program, as well as postdoctoral fellowship program. In addition, the psychologist will provide supervision to clinical and school psychology practicum students and may work with trainees across multiple disciplines and levels of training.

Clinical Faculty are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.

We are looking for a psychologist with a wide range of relevant clinical skills, experience within acute, intensive, or residential treatment services for youth, expertise in working with a multi-disciplinary team, and knowledge and experience with Disruptive Behavior Disorders and PBMT.

Salary

The base salary range for a Clinical Assistant Professor position will be $8,500 - $10,250 per month ($102,000 - $123,000 annually).

The base salary range for a Clinical Associate Professor position will be $10,500 - $12,500 per month ($126,000 - $150,000 annually).

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Other compensation associated with this position may include an incentive through Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan.

Qualifications

A PhD or PsyD or foreign equivalent and eligibility for a Washington State license.
