  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate degree program, with some advanced coursework related to the internship program.

  1. Observes and assists professionals in the assigned department to learn about areas of career interest.
  2. Assists, as necessary, in the coordination, administration, or monitoring of specific programs.
  3. Assists, as necessary, with researching, collecting and organizing data, performing analyses, and preparing reports to supplement knowledge gained through academic courses.
  4. Participates, as necessary, in finding solutions to existing problems and discusses recommendations with administrative personnel to acquire skills in problem solving.
  5. Assists with special projects.

The Education Team at the Watershed Protection Dept. aims to educate, engage, & inspire Austin’s communities in stewardship of our watersheds while fostering equity, environmental protection, & climate resilience.

Assist with educational programs at the Watershed Protection Dept. This could include organizing, distributing, planning, review, & research of educational program materials, maintenance of Grow Green demonstration gardens, and assisting with summer youth education programming including: Clean Creek Camp & Groundwater to Gulf Teacher Institute.

Days and Hours Monday - Friday 20 hours Physical Demands

May lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
