About the Role:

Remitly's Marketing Analytics team is the core of our data-driven growth, using data to improve new customer acquisition and retention, and provide the business intelligence/metrics for the Marketing team. As a Principal Data Analyst for Marketing Data Infrastructure, reporting to the Global Head of Marketing Analytics, you'll support the engine that powers Remitly's marketing efforts through data-driven insights. Drawing on your extensive experience and expertise, you'll lead the charge in defining the strategy and vision for Marketing Data. This role demands a visionary mindset, unwavering ownership, and the ability to strategize and execute decisively. Your primary objective will be to shape our data strategy, ensuring that we possess the precise information needed to make informed marketing decisions.

Your comprehensive understanding of data and its implications for marketing will be instrumental in guiding us through the ever-evolving marketing landscape. By empowering our analysts and marketers to extract actionable insights from meaningful analysis, you'll be instrumental in driving growth for Remitly and elevating our overall marketing performance.

You Will:

  • Be a data owner, partnering with the Marketing, Marketing Technology, and Data Engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, while leading root cause analysis to assess issues and inconsistencies.
  • Design end-to-end BI solutions that allow marketers to analyze their marketing channels, identify new opportunities, and reach more customers at a reasonable cost
  • Work with team members to establish requirements and functional specifications for a BI solution - including data requirements, data processing requirements, reporting/presentation layer requirements
  • Conceptualize and propose data solutions that help us stay ahead of industry changes, including emerging privacy and regulatory frameworks, and have high operational excellence
  • Develop frameworks for understanding data stability and the impact of changes to data on our business.
  • Use industry tools and your own skillset to assess data quality and resolve data quality problems.
  • Drive data architecture and modeling recommendations in partnership with Data Engineering.

You Have:

  • (Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or quantitative field
  • 8+ years experience in a data/analytics role
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and experience with integrating data from 3rd parties
  • Proficient in Python, or other programming languages
  • Experience with data visualization and related tools (e.g. Tableau, Mode)
  • Experience establishing clear project timelines and priorities, and managing expectations through clear communications
  • Experience explaining data-driven decisions to team members and leadership with technical or non-technical backgrounds
  • Willingness to embrace ambiguity and change

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $152,000-$190,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
