About Us: The Measurement and Evaluation Unit is a dynamic organization committed to building organizational capacity in evidence-based decision-making, performance measurement, and evaluative practice. Our team provides consulting services and advisory/project management support to ministry program areas and sector partners. We specialize in developing and implementing robust and innovate performance measurement and evaluation frameworks, citizen-centered program/service design, client journey mapping, user experience research, and process improvements.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of performance measurement strategies: Drive the success of occupational health and safety, employment standards, immigration, and labour relations sectors, along with related policies and programs.
  • Lead or support strategic stakeholder engagement: Foster collaboration across divisions and ministries to implement the best tools and methods in performance measurement and evaluative practice.
  • Provide expertise and support for colleagues: Create a positive, collaborative environment by applying an educational and problem-solving approach to data-related business questions and program planning.

How do I qualify?

Performance Measurement and Evaluative Practice

  • You have experience developing and implementing performance measurement and evaluation strategies for programs, projects, systems and strategic initiatives.
  • You have knowledge of and experience in analytics and developing and validating key performance indicators for programs and complex initiatives and translating data into insights for decision making.
  • You have experience and skills in designing and conducting user experience research and testing, developing client journey maps, analyzing client needs, and applying citizen-centered design methods
  • You are aware of current developments issues and trends in performance measurement and evaluative practice in Canada and other jurisdictions.

Project Management and Leadership Skills

  • You have experience applying project management theories, tools and methodologies to coordinate, implement, and monitor effective processes and best practices and designing projects through completion of a full cycle of project or program management.
  • You can lead interdisciplinary teams to produce desired outcomes and deliverables.

Analytical, Research and Problem-Solving Skills

  • You have demonstrated analytical, research and problem-solving skills to design data collection tools and methods, assess data quality and limitations, conduct analysis using evidence collected from multiple lines of inquiry, and assess performance measurement strategies and evaluation methods
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, preparing recommendations based on findings, and translating information to meet the needs of different audiences

Technical Skills

  • You have data collection, management and analysis skills and have experience using software for generating performance dashboards and visualizing results.
  • You have experience working with case management databases and custom database interface.

Communication Skills

  • You have strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills to work seamlessly in a multi-disciplinary team, with clients and leadership.
