Slalom Boston is seeking an experienced Business Strategist to join our dynamic Strategy & Process team. Our Strategy & Process team helps organizations of all kinds redefine what’s possible, give shape to the future—and get there. We focus on high-impact projects, meeting our clients where they are to uncover business needs and deliver results. Our teams go beyond the expected to help clients move confidently through ambiguity and risk and drive more transformative outcomes.

What You’ll Do

This role focuses on broad-based enterprise-wide as well as business-unit-level strategies. The Business Strategist demonstrates a clear understanding of the client’s strategy, architecture (including capabilities, maturity level, gaps), and operating business environment from both an internal and external perspective to design strategies that drive our client outcomes and position our clients for success. This individual should bring expertise across functional and business solutions, strategic mapping, business case development, product strategy, and go to market approaches. Additionally, the Business Strategist will strive to meet an 80% annual client billable utilization goal.

What You’ll Bring

Strategy Development

  • Has led strategic engagements at the enterprise ad business-unit level
  • Has led assessments taking a client through a structured decision-making process to define the process and criteria, identify and compare solutions, and align on the preferred alternative
  • Has directed the development of strategic purpose statements (e.g., vision, mission, values)
  • Has demonstrated expertise in the development of objectives, key results, and initiatives

Research & Assessment Experience

  • Has conducted market research (e.g., trends related to the industry, customers, competitors, drivers of change)
  • Has supported operational performance assessments (e.g., customer experience, financial, operational, culture)
  • Has monitored and analyzed industry trends (established/emerging) and market forces to serve as inputs to strategy creation
  • Has developed common business metrics/KPIs and implemented tracking mechanisms

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Managed stakeholder engagement efforts during complex client programs
