How you can help achieve our mission of providing caring service: 

By representing Forest Lawn as a Recruitment Specialist in our Human Resources department, you will partner directly with organizational leaders to hire talented, caring, and compassionate individuals for roles in various departments such as, Mortuary, Funeral Services, Maintenance, Marketing, and Technology Services, at our six locations throughout Southern California. 

Our Human Resources team located in Glendale, CA is responsible for supporting 13 Forest Lawn locations throughout Southern California. 

Key Job Responsibilities/ What You’ll Be Doing (ie. Job Duties) 

  • Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills. 
  • Discuss hiring needs with Supervisors and Managers to prepare and implement recruitment program. 
  • Develops recruitment programs, budgets and collateral to attract applicants to fill specific job openings. 
  • Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified applicants and initiates contact with viable candidates. 
  • Reviews applications, and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements and provide information about the organization and the position. 
  • Screens and refers qualified applicants for additional interviews with others in the organization. 
  • Tracks all aspects of the hiring process in Workday in order to monitor and provide relevant metrics. Develops insights based on data metrics to improve candidate experience and recruitment lifecycle. 
  • Develops creative advertisement campaigns for print as well as online placement as budget permits. 
  • Participate in and plan job fairs, mall shows, ethnic festivals, and other special events deemed appropriate. Coordinate participation of hiring managers and supervisors and/or other employee representatives in conjunction with these events. 
  • Maintains a strong presence, promotes and represents Forest Lawn in the Mortuary Science department at Cypress College. Builds relationships with the staff and students to identify talent and build the pipeline for positions at Forest Lawn. 
  • Develops and maintains contact with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants. 
  • Coordinates communication, interviews, training schedule and job offer with applicants. 
  • Maintain yearly recruitment expenditures for budgetary control. 
  • Perform other duties as needed. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bilingual in Spanish 
  • 2+ years of recruiting experience 
  • Ability to travel to different Forest Lawn locations and job fairs 
  • Valid California Driver’s License 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (will consider degree in progress) 
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM CP certification 
  • Experience with using an Applicant Tracking System

DRUG TESTING POLICY

Prior to beginning employment, all job applicants who receive a job offer will be required to voluntarily submit to a drug screening test conducted by a laboratory designated by Forest Lawn. The drug screening method is a hair collection test that will detect the use of illegal drugs within the past 90 days. A positive drug test may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.

E-VERIFY STATEMENT

Forest Lawn has registered to participate in the federal government's E-Verify program. With E-Verify we are able to confirm the employment authorization of all newly hired employees through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security. With respect to new hires, the E-Verify process is completed in conjunction with a new hire's completion of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification upon commencement of employment. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates.
