Background information

The Software Infrastructure and Computer System Department (SICS) within ASML provides high quality software and hardware solutions to enable both internal and external clients to create products in an effective and efficient way. Following the ASML roadmap to introduce a modern Software tool chain for Development & Engineering (D&E), the Operating System group within the SICS department would like to migrate all legacy ClearCase/BitBucket archive to Github, and create automated CI/CD pipeline to ensure good quality. The high level environment is already available within the ASML IT environment, and we are looking for a student who can help to migrate our current CI/CD pipeline to Github action environment. 

Your assignment

During this internship, you will migrate source code archive from ClearCase/BitBucket into Github and create a CI/CD pipeline to automate the following:

  • Build kernel/root file systems from both Linux and vxWorks archives.
  • Archive the built artifacts.
  • Trigger testbench testing on real embedded hardware.
  • Collect test results and generate test report.

A part of this internship is also to ensure proper documentation.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a bachelor/HBO student in Technical Computer Science, Software Engineering or Embedded Software;
  • Have experience with Python, Bash, container technology (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and the Linux development environment;
  • Have experience Experience with Software CI/CD pipeline; e.g. GitHub/GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
  • Are a self-starter, eager to learn and have a structured way of working;
  • Are proficient in the English language.

This is a bachelor/HBO apprentice internship (non-thesis), for 3 to 4 months, 4 to 5 days per week. The start date is as of September 2024. Earlier is possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship. This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
