Who you are 

Reporting to the Head of Development & Giving, the Associate Director, Direct Response Fundraising will develop, execute and manage direct response fundraising campaigns in close collaboration with internal functions and external partners, focusing on three crucial areas: 1) cultivating our existing donor and user lists, 2) new donor acquisition strategies, and 3) detailed analysis and reporting. This role requires a deep knowledge of direct response best practices and methodologies across multiple channels.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute strong, compelling multi-channel campaign strategies and testing plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams (marketing, email, creative, production, etc.) 
  • Establish acquisition investment levels and lead implementation teams responsible for donor acquisition strategy across all channels
  • Develop integrated contact strategies driven by data and performance analysis and oversee implementation of those strategies to maximize donor lifetime value across all channels.
  • Collaborate with Major Gifts Officer to enhance the donor pipeline from mid-level to major gifts 
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and timely records in partnership with Digital Fundraising Associate to measure progress and effectiveness
  • Leverage KPI data to drive strategy recommendations and program management
  • Manage external vendors, agency partners, or consultants as needed
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current donor trends and opportunities 

Must-haves 

  • Minimum 6 years of experience leading direct response fundraising
  • Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals 
  • Strong knowledge of direct response best practices and multichannel strategies, as well as a familiarity with digital marketing tools, technology, and analytics
  • Working knowledge of project management tools, email platforms such as Monday.com and Iterable
  • Experience managing external vendors and agency partners
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Committed to embodying and being a steward of our commitment to DEIB
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
  • Highly proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Cal, Sheets, Slides)

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Marketing or related field
  • Experience navigating matrixed organizations
