Job Summary:

The Processing, Guidance, and Control (PGC) center team combines the performance disciplines of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MSA), Signal Processing (SP), and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) to provide robust effectors solutions for the warfighter. The PGC center specializes in providing SP and GNC solutions in integrated flight simulations that support the lifecycle of the product, from conceptual design and trades, to development, even before the target hardware is available, to evaluating the system performance and reducing the number of trials required before fielding a product.

As a Signal Processing Engineer II, you will collaborate in the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of Radar and/or Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) algorithms and models. Used across our products and new business initiatives, signal processing algorithms extract and exploit signals from both active and passive sensors to be used for calibrating and de-noising of raw sensor data; acquiring, detecting, tracking, and classifying objects of interest; and sensor fusion.

This position is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will act as an established and productive professional contributor with theoretical to advanced knowledge of signal processing to support budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of sometimes difficult and potentially complex program objectives.
  • You will use simulations for the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of radar and/or EO/IR algorithms and models.
  • You will participate in production, engineering lab, and field test environments to test, verify, and validate radar and/or EO/IR models and signal processing algorithm performance in accordance with requirements.
  • You will collaborate in all development phases from program start-up to live-fire testing, supporting design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to parties within and outside own team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 (two) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with C++ and/or C.
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Must have successfully completed the Skill Bridge Internship Program.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or Math.
  • Experience running, modifying, and/or evaluating simulations.
  • Experience with radar and/or EO/IR signal processing algorithm development and analysis.
  • Experience integrating radar and/or EO/IR signal processing algorithms in real-time, embedded software systems.
  • Experience with missile components and systems.
  • Experience using UNIX/Linux-based workstations.
  • Good communication, interaction, planning, and time management skills.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
