Physical Distribution Manager – Corridor & Consolidation

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Manage the Supply Chain end-to-end in terms of transportation planning & execution. You will optimize operations across the regions securing capacity leverage with Carriers, Freight Forwarders including service providers as well as control and driving cost optimization initiatives.

You are responsible for:

  • Operational monitoring on global level of the shipments flows,
  • Maintenance of the correct master data in TMS with the special focus to Transport rates / tariffs coverage,
  • Working closely with business users to determine business requirements and translate them to TMS rules
  • With supportive IT Teams responsible for making relevant software configuration changes to support business processes
  • Coordination and communication of TMS deviations between internal stakeholders: Transport Procurement (Forwarding & Distribution), Bookers, Business
  • Providing carrier compliance, root cause analysis and EDI problem resolution
  • Ensuring executional compliance and quality of the delivery
  • Implementation and driving global logistics processes standardization with special focus on Transport Rates coverage in TMS,
  • Providing assistance to new hires in training and on-going operational activities
  • Managing the Global Project of Corridor and Consolidation multimodal delivery created to reduce air spend and CO2 emission

You will be a part of

Global Transportation Management Team which takes care of the transport infrastructure to ensure that all Philips product will reach the customers within contractual agreed lead times, at the most cost effective service, un-damaged and the correct destination.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain with focus on Logistics and Transportation
  • More than 3 years of experience in TMS Management.
  • Previous relevant experience in professional transport environment; either as Shipper or as Carrier or Freight Forwarder
  • Fluent level of English is essential
  • Excellent organization and time management/multi-tasking skills demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of project
  • Evidence of excellent communication skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels, both internally and within the service providers
  • Good working knowledge of MS office applications with expert level for MS EXCEL/Access;
  • Knowledge of SAP will be a strong asset
  • Strong data analysis experience and high learning agility
