About the Role

We’re looking for great front-end engineers to join the frontend platform team responsible for handling the design systems, frontend CI/CD, and infrastructure. You will be primarily responsible for building and scaling multiple areas of front-end development, working with the platform team. This is a high ownership, impact, and visibility role that will create a step change in Rippling’s growth and technological evolution.

What you will do

  • Lead efforts to enhance the speed, responsiveness, and overall performance of web applications by implementing and refining best practices in frontend development.
  • Craft and build internal frontend tooling and libraries to optimize developer efficiency and increase code reliability and performance.
  • Be self-directed and take a lead role on requirements, implementation, and delivery, as well as consulting with adopting teams.
  • Elevate existing synthetic performance analysis workflows to the next level, utilizing innovative approaches and tools to continually enhance the monitoring and analysis of frontend performance.
  • Drive the adoption of industry best practices in monitoring, profiling, and optimizing web applications, promoting a culture of excellence in code quality and performance.
  • You'll mentor other engineers and participate in reviewing code.

What you will need

  • At least 7 years of experience in software development and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of software architectures
  • Experience monitoring, profiling, and optimizing web applications
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (especially ES6+), React, HTML, and CSS, and unit and integration testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of front-end performance optimization techniques.
  • Solid engineering skills, a track record, and passion for improving the code structure and architecture to enhance testability and maintainability
  • Quality Code: Fluent in writing high-quality code and experienced in creating relevant test suites to ensure code integrity.
  • [Bonus] Experience with launching or managing analytics and data products.
